Capacity Development

The HIV response has been ongoing for almost two decades and expanded rapidly due to the introduction of PEPFAR in 2003. Various program implementation strategies have been introduced at service delivery level to respond to the epidemic.
While the bulk of service delivery occurs in Ministry of Health facilities, increased donor funding and escalation of the epidemic has led an increase in civil society organizations (CSOs) implementing HIV strategies in the last decade.
The organizations experience various challenges that hinder provision capacity to quality services – most of which the challenges resulted from their organization systems, financial management and technical capacities, leading to inconsistent performance. To address the challenges, LVCT Health developed Timisha Capacity development model.

What we do

The LVCT Health Timisha Capacity Development programme aims at strengthening community response and national systems as stipulated in the WHO guidelines.
