Settings where we offer services
Our services are offered in community and facility settings.
Ministry of health facilities: We provide technical support to ministry of health to provide facility based services such as provider initiated testing and counselling services and post rape care (sexual and gender based violence services).
We have established standalone clinics to offer comprehensive HIV care and treatment services in Nairobi and Kisumu. These clinics service over 7500 HIV positive individuals who receive lifesaving anti-retroviral treatment and other related health services.
Key Populations access HIV prevention services in Drop-in centres which are community based service delivery points that offer them a comprehensive range of HIV testing, prevention and care and treatment services.
LVCT Health offers community based services through outreach services carried out in hotspots and/or hard to reach areas for clients who cannot reach our facilities. We provide services in slums and informal settlements targeting vulnerable girls and boys providing them with comprehensive HIV prevention and economic empowerment programs. Key populations are often found in hotspots including bars and lodges of drug dens where our providers offer them comprehensive HIV prevention and care and treatment services.
How we deliver services
Partnerships – LVCT Health works closely with the Ministry of Health at national and county levels to provide services in health facilities. We align with national guidelines and ensure all our staff are trained to the highest standards in partnership with the ministry of health.
Beneficiary involvement – we work with our beneficiaries to guide our program designs and seek ways to continually improve them. We engage adolescent girls and young women to serve as mentors and change agents to reach their peers. Among the key populations, we work with peer educators selected from among the key populations and employ those who receive adequate training as providers across our sites. We work closely and in partnership with key populations and youth organizations to inform our programs.
Quality – we believe in delivering quality services at all times and in all settings. All providers are certified by their professional bodies or MOH. We participate in accreditation of our sites and external quality assurance of our laboratories and counsellors. We undertake supportive supervision and quality improvement initiatives across all our programs including those at facility and community level. We have provided leadership in the country on supportive supervision and community quality improvement based on lessons learnt in service delivery.
