Gender Based Violence

Gender Based Violence (GBV) is a public health concern across the world. It is a significant risk factor for poor health impacting on individuals' physical, sexual and psychological health, as well as their social and economic well-being. A strong correlation exists between GBV and HIV outcomes.

What we do

LVCT health uses an operational research model to inform policy and practice around management of survivors of sexual violence (Post rape care program). Our research has focused on interventions to prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) and children as well as strengthening response to the needs of survivors of sexual violence. Over the years LVCT Health has undertaken studies that have informed new PRC programming models, training curricula for providers, development of national guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
