The Timisha Capacity Development Model employs an integrated mentorship approach based on LVCT Health experiences in program work, policy engagement and research, and addresses the organisation, and institution systems, as well as the technical capacity building. Technical capacity building focuses on skills building in the key program areas with the aim of addressing service delivery and coverage gaps, while the institutional system strengthening focuses on the institution’s systems and structures.
Kay achievements include:
- 7 countries in Africa – Provided south to south technical assistance in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Botswana and Côte d’Ivoire, working in partnership with local and international organizations and governments through ministry of health and NACCs
- 31 counties in Kenya – Provided South to South technical assistance in 31 of the 47 counties in Kenya.
- 71 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) offered south to south technical support - in organization system strengthening and/or technical capacity building
