Our Approach

Research – Policy – Practice (Hatua Model)

Our work is anchored in a Research-Policy-Practice -RPP framework (Hatua model) through which we implement evidence-informed programs. We pilot innovative solutions to the health challenges identified in the national and community priorities and support scale-up for population-level impact.
The RPP model has demonstrated results across programs and policies, for example:
  1. HIV prevention – demonstration project on PREP introduction informed Kenya’s PREP guidelines
  2. Gender-based violence – LVCT Health research on post-rape care, violence against women and violence against children have informed national guidelines on GBV
  3. Community Quality Improvement – LVCT Health research on the implementation of Community QI informed the national guidelines on QI at the community level.
