LVCT Health implements the Strengthening TB and HIV Response in Kenya Prisons (STAR) project, funded by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to reduce HIV/TB infections in the Kenyan prison population, and mortality and morbidity of HIV/TB positive inmates.

Project Objectives

To improve health outcomes of PLHIV identified and linked to care and treatment through the KPS health facilities
To strengthen the KPS health system to provide optimal HIV combination prevention services to over 95% of inmates, KPS staff and their families and surrounding communities by 2025
