Dr. Cleophas Ondieki

STAR Project Director

Dr. Cleophas Ondieki is a medical doctor with over 15 years’ experience in clinical practice, program management and leadership. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi. He is also a clinical fellow of the Joanna Briggs Institute at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

As Project Director, STAR, Dr. Cleophas is charged with the responsibility of ensuring quality service delivery in TB/HIV prevention across 58 Kenya Prisons Service health facilities in 32 out of the 47 counties of Kenya. In addition, he has been involved in the Hepatitis B birth dose advocacy and antimicrobial resistance work in the organisation. Prior to appointment in this role, he served within the organization as a Regional Manager and Care and Treatment Manager. Previously, he worked at Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) for 5 years in various capacities up to the senior management team level. During the period, he gained a lot of experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Prior to working for MSK, Dr. Cleophas worked at Embu Provincial General Hospital where he provided leadership in the Comprehensive Care Clinic, providing care for HIV positive patients.
