Cape Town, South Africa: LVCT Health is excited to participate in this year’s bi-annual Forum of the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI), taking place from October 22-25, 2024, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.
The SVRI Forum is the largest global research conference focused on research related to violence against women and children, as well as other forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low- and middle-income countries. The conference provides an engaging and informative platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, donors, survivors, and others to build knowledge and expand their network, collaborate and share insights about new research, developments and innovations.
Since 2005, LVCT Health has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at preventing and responding to gender-based violence and violence against children.
During the conference, LVCT Health in collaboration with St. Catherine University, will present key findings from a crucial study examining how climate change contributes to violence, particularly affecting adolescent girls and young women in Kilifi County, Kenya.
The study, titled “Climate Change and Violence Impacting Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Kilifi County, Kenya,” underscores the urgent need to address the intersection of environmental and gender-related challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
