LVCT Health Takes Ownership of Boost Digital Job Aide and re-brands to HimaRika to Support Healthcare Workers Across Kenya

PRESS RELEASE

LVCT Health is excited to announce that it has officially taken ownership of the Boost Digital Job Aide from Avert, which is a move that will expand its commitment to empowering healthcare workers throughout Kenya. Now renamed as HimaRika, the tool has been translated into Swahili and rebranded to better serve the needs of community healthcare workers/Promoters  (CHW/Ps) by providing critical real-time health information, resources, and protocols.

The transition is a testament to LVCT Health’s foresight and leadership in adopting and expanding Boost, a digital aide that has already proven its impact in a similar context. Through LVCT Health’s stewardship, HimaRika will be further tailored to meet the needs of Kenyan communities, offering CHWs a robust, locally adapted tool that enhances their practice, competency, and the quality of care they provide.

“Taking ownership of this resource is a significant step for LVCT Health as we expand our support to frontline healthcare workers across Kenya,” Robert Kimathi.

“HimaRika will enable CHWs to access the information they need quickly and reliably in their own language, strengthening their ability to deliver quality healthcare services.”

Seamless Transition and Strengthened Support

The handover between Avert and LVCT Health has been meticulously planned to ensure continuity. Avert has provided comprehensive systems, data, and knowledge transfer, allowing LVCT Health to continue supporting healthcare workers without interruption seamlessly. As LVCT Health takes on this responsibility, healthcare professionals who previously relied on Boost can expect ongoing, and potentially enhanced, support through HimaRika.

Empowering Healthcare Workers Through Accessible Technology

HimaRika empowers healthcare workers by putting real-time, vital health resources at their fingertips, from treatment protocols to patient management guidelines. The digital aide ensures that CHWs have the knowledge to confidently deliver care in a variety of community settings, improving health outcomes across Kenya.

Future Plans for HimaRika Under LVCT Health

Under LVCT Health’s leadership, HimaRika will be rolled out across all current projects, with further plans to expand its reach to healthcare workers nationwide. By engaging with other organizations in the NGO and CHW sector, LVCT Health envisions a scalable, national impact for HimaRika, bringing high-quality, accessible support to CHWs across Kenya.

LVCT Health’s adoption and rebranding of Boost as HimaRika marks a transformative step toward supporting and empowering Kenya’s healthcare workers through locally adapted digital innovation.
